A new lawn brings instant beauty to any garden, and the right groundwork makes all the difference. We lay lawns across West London using proper ground preparation, free-draining blended loam and grade-A seeded turf — the foundation for grass that establishes quickly and stays healthy.

Starting with a clean, bare base
Every lawn we lay starts from the ground up. We scrape and clear the area completely, removing old turf, weeds and root growth so the surface is totally bare. Skipping this step is the most common reason new lawns fail, so we make sure nothing is left to cause problems later.
Rotivating the soil
With a clear surface to work on, we rotivate the soil to let oxygen back in and lift out bricks, stones and old roots. Because most London gardens sit on heavy clay, this step matters — clay bakes hard in dry spells and stays soggy in winter, the perfect conditions for moss. Rotivating breaks that compaction and prepares the ground for a healthy lawn.
Fresh loam and grade-A turf
We then apply and firm a layer of fresh, fertile blended loam so the finished lawn sits perfectly level. To finish, we lay high-quality grade-A seeded turf, completing a lawn that will steadily root, establish and keep its colour and beauty for years to come.

Our turfing options
We offer a basic option that uses your existing topsoil and includes a new-turf fertiliser, and a premium option where we remove 100mm of old sod and soil and replace it with our blended loam. We always recommend the loam replacement where budget allows — it gives the turf a real head start, rooting and establishing noticeably sooner than on compacted London clay.
